Stable Q2 2024 for Industrial Printer Shipments, According to IDC
NEEDHAM, Mass., September 24, 2024 – The second quarter of 2024 saw essentially flat total shipments, with just 1% growth in the industrial printer segment compared both to Q1 2024 and compared to Q2 2023 according to the newest release from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Industrial Printer Tracker. "While wide format was effectively flat quarter-on-quarter in Q2, other segments of the industrial printer market showed some modest growth" said Tim Greene, research director, Hardcopy Solutions at IDC. "In Q2 4 we saw some growth in the direct to shape and industrial textile printer segments, and we continue to see the move from direct-to-garment (DTG) into direct-to-film (DTF) which is a subset of the large format printer numbers. So, with modest growth, the market is effectively flat through the first half of 2024 compared to 2023."
