Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines the barriers that developers face when they are trying to find and fix vulnerabilities, providing insight into areas organizations could address to enhance enterprise security. Respondents, who are primary decision-makers about DevSecOps strategy, chose from a list that included perceived impacts on productivity, lack of skills/knowledge, and organizational culture. The key finding is that the highest percentage of organizations feels that limited budgets and staffing to support comprehensive security efforts is the biggest barrier to finding and fixing vulnerabilities. This IDC Survey Spotlight provides two slides: The first slide displays a chart of survey results for the 12 survey options, while the second slide provides discussion, analysis, and implications for organizations.
