Abstract


This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation draws on new data from IDC's latest Global Retail and Global Consumer Sentiment Surveys to examine the impact for retailers of shoppers, particularly younger demographics, showing a greater embrace of a range of self-service technologies as well as their new expectations for fast, frictionless, omni-channel shopping journeys. As retailers struggle with labor shortages and higher labor costs, investments in self-service tech and automation may help alleviate labor issues while enabling retailers to better meet the new expectations for improved customer experience.
