This IDC Survey presents key findings from IDC's U.S. Healthcare Provider IT Survey with a focus on acute/inpatient (e.g., hospitals, regional medical centers, medical centers), ambulatory/outpatient (e.g., outpatient centers, clinics, and physician groups/practices), and post-acute/long-term (e.g., long-term care hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies) care settings and technology buyers.
"Healthcare providers are increasingly prioritizing incremental improvements and optimization over wholesale replacements," says Mutaz Shegewi, senior research director, IDC Health Insights. "Tech suppliers that can demonstrate the value of enhancing existing systems in acute/inpatient care settings where the demand for upgrades and replacements is strongest across several application categories and a more balanced approach in other care settings, combining incremental improvements with targeted new investments, will be best positioned to capitalize on existing market opportunities and future demand."
