Abstract

This IDC study provides a forecast for the U.S. wearables installed base for the 2024–2028 period.

"The U.S. wearables market is one of the most mature in the world, yet the decline in volumes in 2022 and 2023 compared with pandemic levels will lead to a shrinking of the installed base before rebounding in 2026," points out Ramon T. Llamas, research director for IDC's Wearables team. "Still, the appetite for wearable devices is strong, and new devices will help spur growth once again. Vendors throughout the ecosystem can look forward to growth but also need to be wary of becoming a commodity in an increasingly crowded market."
