Abstract
This IDC study discusses a five-year forecast for the worldwide wearables installed base.
"The worldwide installed base of wearable devices continues to swell with a steady stream of device releases and upgrades combined with consumer tendency to use those devices upward of three years," says Ramon T. Llamas, research director for IDC's Wearables team. "This provides vendors ample opportunity to capture mind share and market share, but also provides reason to differentiate against an increasingly crowded market to avoid becoming a commodity."
