Abstract


This IDC Survey looks at the importance of and the satisfaction with key attributes on smart earwear in the United States. In spring of 2023, IDC surveyed 459 smart earwear owners, asking them which attributes were important to them, how satisfied they were with them, how they were satisfied by their devices overall, and which brands they would consider when it was time to replace their current ones.

"Smart earwear has become the wearable device of choice in the United States, and the breadth and depth of selection among devices and brands has given consumers plenty of choice and perspective on what matters to them the most," says Ramon T. Llamas, research director with IDC's Wearables team. "While many would suspect that Apple would be the most popular brand when it comes to earwear, other brands report higher satisfaction. Combined with the growing popularity of some of the smaller brands, the U.S. smart earwear market appears headed for greater competition and choice."
