Abstract
This IDC study examines the U.S. market for fixed wireless access services across consumers and business customers in both legacy 4G and emerging 5G forms for the 2024–2028 period.
"Connectivity is the lifeblood of modern, digital life for consumers and businesses alike, and FWA provides a cost-effective, easy-to-deploy alternative to the high costs; time-consuming installation; and household/business disruption often associated with wired broadband," says Jason Leigh, research manager, 5G and Mobility at IDC. "As newly deployed 5G network performance matures, and buyers gain familiarity with FWA's ability to deliver a robust, reliable connection for their home and business needs, FWA growth stands poised to challenge legacy wired broadband providers for an increasing share of connectivity spending."
