This IDC study presents the worldwide market forecast for carrier routing network equipment for 2023–2027. Carrier routing network equipment sales to carrier SPs are forecast to grow from $12.4 billion in 2022 to $14.7 billion by the end of 2027, at a CAGR of 3.5%.
"Communications service providers worldwide continue to upgrade their network to add capacity and support new and emerging applications. The overall carrier IP routing market saw a steady YoY growth of 1.3% in 2022 because of service providers' increased deployment of 400Gbps technology. North American service providers ramped up their investment in the infrastructure to support growing demand for bandwidth and surpassed all other regions in the router investment," says Ajeet Das, research director, Carrier Network Infrastructure at IDC.
