Abstract
This IDC Survey deck examines the 2024 IDC Energy Insights' Global Utilities and Oil and Gas Survey, specifically for energy and water retailers globally regarding their IT investment directions.
The 2024 IDC Energy Insights' Global Utilities and Oil and Gas Survey is a landmark study covering utilities around the world. It was run between November 2023 and January 2024.
The survey covered 600 respondents, of whom 418 are utilities respondents from the following countries: the U.K., the Nordics, the Netherlands, DACH, Spain, France, Poland, Italy, Romania, Türkiye, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Nigeria, the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Colombia, the Philippines, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.
This study extrapolates and analyzes select data for 170 energy and water retailers around the world.
This presentation covers the IT investment direction of the survey, analyzing data such as:
- Challenges to technology innovation
- IT budget allocation
- Change in external IT budgets
- IT budget control between the IT department and the line of business departments
