Abstract
This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation summarizes the results of IDC's 2023 Future Enterprise Best in Future of Digital Infrastructure North American Awards process. It includes summaries of the award-winning efforts of this year's overall winner and top runners-up as recognized during the annual virtual awards event held November 16, 2023. These organizations were selected because they have successfully invested in digital infrastructure innovation as a critical enabler of important digital business initiatives. Specifically awards went to:
- The Cigna Group: The Cigna Group was named the "Best" in Future of Digital Infrastructure North American Awards overall winner in 2023 based on the breadth and depth of its efforts to promote consistent enterprisewide use of public cloud infrastructure while optimizing the total cost of ownership, minimizing tech debt, and consistently automating security and compliance. Cigna's experience demonstrates the value of collaborative, ubiquitous governance; FinOps maturity; and comprehensive cloud technology architectures and emphasizes Cigna's FinOps maturity as part of the company's Enterprise Cloud Center of Enablement.
- Rockline Industries: Rockline Industries was named first runner-up for its "Project Safeguard," which created the foundation and infrastructure to bring Internet of Things (IoT) data to a central, cloud-based repository and enabled the organization to gain the ability to track product quality throughout the manufacturing process and to expedite the time it took to access data for customer complaint investigations.
- Avery Dennison: Avery Dennison was named second runner-up for its "Automated Recovery on the Infrastructure Resiliency" project, which increased the use of self-service automation and self-help capabilities across all the organization's digital infrastructure platforms. The effort resulted in increased operational efficiency and datacenter availability and reduced downtime for business services, thus improving productivity.
"IDC's research shows that 77% of organizations worldwide recognize digital infrastructure — spanning datacenter, public cloud, and edge platforms — as a fundamental enabler of digital business success," said Mary Johnston Turner, research vice president, Future of Digital Infrastructure at IDC. "Winners of our annual Best in Future of Digital Infrastructure Awards represent forward-thinking organizations across North America that have harnessed the power of digital infrastructure to transform their business and achieve strategic, measurable business outcomes."
Nominations for the 2024 awards process will open in February 2024.
