This IDC study presents a summation of all worldwide cloud-native XDR 2022 documents as well as market trends known into June 2023.
"Major cybersecurity companies have made significant investments in XDR, and in the last year, automation on the back end of systems has markedly improved, and in the near future, generative AI can add even greater efficiencies," notes Chris Kissel, research VP, IDC Security and Trust Products. "Still the XDR stack is evolving. The idea all along has been to combine the fast detection of endpoint technologies with the telemetry of the network. Sounds great, except we may be getting to the point where capabilities are added to the standard XDR software stack begin to compromise quick detection. Even well into 2023, there is still some resistance to automated response."
