This IDC study quantifies the worldwide multifunction and single-function printer market opportunity in detail, analyzing issues, trends, and product advances in this market. Unit shipments, value of shipments, and average selling value (ASV) information is presented. Data for 2017–2022 is actual, whereas data for 2023–2027 is projected. This forecast is consistent with IDC's 3Q23 Worldwide Quarterly Hardcopy Peripherals Tracker.
"The hardcopy peripherals market had been anticipating growth after the end of the 'supply chain crisis' that had limited printer and MFP supply since 2021. However, as supply recovered to meet demand in 2023, global economy weakness weakened demand, resulting in a sharp year-over-year shipment decrease in 2023. More moderate year-over-year declines are expected to continue throughout the forecast period.
