In this IDC Perspective, municipalities and organizations are extremely proud of their work and are often very thoughtful in the projects they fund and their implementation. These initiatives do not often get noticed or promoted; they should because they showcase the great daily work that municipalities are doing. The Smart Cities North America Awards (SCNAA) plays an important role in IDC's efforts to comprehend and monitor the future of Smart City initiatives implemented by municipalities throughout the United States. However, their significance goes beyond this. They serve as a means to showcase the best practices of forward-thinking municipalities and regional governments whose innovative responses have become a vital platform for both cities and tech companies to demonstrate their capabilities and accomplishments.
