Abstract
This IDC study introduces digital-native business taxonomy, and it provides a detailed description of IDC’s worldwide digital-native business company size methodology and taxonomy. It is intended as a companion for market forecasts presented in IDC’s worldwide digital-native business tech spending opportunity forecast. Technology suppliers may utilize this approach and structure to help them build a digital-native business strategy.
“For DNBs, the use of technology is crucial in the GTM strategy as well as for their business strategy. B2B- and B2C-oriented DNBs set the pace when it comes to product innovation and development, and through efficient use of IT, they are able set new standards in customer intimacy and customer experience. Tech-driven DNBs that develop new and innovative tech solutions drive innovation across the board. This taxonomy sets the tone to what IDC defines as digital-native businesses to support vendors in sizing and segmenting this fascinating group of innovative companies and vast growing end-user segment,” says Simone de Bruin, research director, Worldwide Digital-Native Business, Start-Ups, and Scale-Ups at IDC.
“DNBs in Asia/Pacific will drive the future of commerce and connectivity as they combine traditional values with cutting-edge technology to lead in the digital era,” says Supriya Deka, senior market analyst, IDC’s Asia/Pacific SMB, Midmarket, and Digital-Native Business program.
“Europe is providing breeding ground to a growing number of DNBs; hence the need of providing a clear identikit of these disruptive companies,” says Martina Longo, senior research analyst, European Digital-Native Business, Start-Ups, and Scale-Ups at IDC.
