Abstract

This document provides market size forecasts for the Japan security software market, Japan security appliance market, and Japan security services market from 2024 to 2028. COVID-19 was classified as a Class 5 infectious disease in May 2023, and the Japan economy is currently experiencing a gradual recovery. However, while a full-scale recovery is beginning to be seen among large companies, IDC believes it will take some time for this to spread to SMBs. Therefore, IDC believes that prioritized and well-balanced security investments are a priority to limit the damage caused by cyberattacks on domestic companies.

"There are concerns about an increase in cyberattacks using AI, and for SMBs facing challenges such as a lack of personnel and securing budgets, IT suppliers are expected to provide expanded AI-based automation and operational support functions, and the entire security industry is expected to take a stance toward protecting society," says Kenichi Akama, research manager, Infrastructure and Devices, IDC Japan.
