Abstract

Red Hat open source solutions have been used by multiple industry verticals, including telecommunications. The use of cloud-native technologies and methodologies is pivotal for an organization's digital transformation journey. The need for automation and orchestration stems from the expectation for communications SPs (CSPs) to better manage their network operations for better availability, efficiency, and reliability while trying to reduce network operations costs and speed up the provisioning of services.

Red Hat's OpenShift Container Platform hosts network functions, creating a software-driven environment that accelerates deployments and reduces time to market, all in a scalable manner. Red Hat's Ansible Automation Platform enhances this ecosystem by enabling CSPs to transition from reactive islands of automation to a more proactive approach of event-driven automation across the network. Additionally, Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes offers policy and configuration templates, cluster management, and monitoring capabilities, enabling observability and visibility into networks.

This IDC Vendor profile provides an overview of Red Hat's portfolio for CSPs, focusing on the technological solutions that streamline the deployment and management of cloud-native networks, edge infrastructure, applications, and workloads within the network environment.
