Abstract

This IDC Market Forecast compiles data from several other IDC cloud-related forecasts and trackers and uses definitions consistent with those other forecasts to provide a perspective on both the total portion of major IT sectors that are influenced by cloud in all its forms, as well as the breakdown of spending on cloud-based services (as a service), managed and professional services needed to deploy and govern cloud resources (services), and hardware, software, and support services required to build and maintain cloud environments (cloud supply chain). It also discusses how economic and geopolitical conditions and the growing importance of AI (triggered by the emergence of GenAI) will affect enterprises’ cloud consumption and management practices.

"The region is witnessing widespread adoption of the cloud and modern development technologies that are driven by digitalization efforts of local governments and enterprises to ensure business continuity and rapid innovation. There has been an accelerated shift to leverage cloud as an operating model and delivery platform to drive investments in advanced technologies, such as AI and GenAI, with the view to enhance experience, value, and delivery. To further maximize value, cloud providers must look to develop scalable cloud platforms with foundational services, resilience, and security as a code," says Shouvik Nag, senior research analyst, IDC Asia/Pacific.
