Abstract

This IDC Survey based on IDC’s 2024 Australia/New Zealand (ANZ) Ecosystem Survey shows a remarkable shift in business priorities from cyber-resilience to an acceleration of customer experience (CX) and digital products, services, and experience innovation. However, in terms of strategic technology priorities and planned investments, the spotlight is back on cybersecurity and resilience, showing how technology leaders are still grappling with issues surrounding hybrid cloud operations and increased cyberthreats. Cross-cloud control priorities will shift to security and resilience outcomes because automation and fine-tuned activities occur on different platforms consistently and in adherence to risk-based controls. The imperative for security SPs and software-defined infrastructure vendors will need to deliver as expectations rise. This year, IDC has combined all 440 enterprise responses into one ANZ report format with country and segment analysis whenever appropriate. This is the second of three reports that provide a deep dive into the ANZ IT ecosystem. This study provides an in-depth analysis of changes in technology priority and spending intentions as well as hybrid cloud migration trends.
