This IDC Market Perspective discusses the benefits and challenges for CSPs endeavouring to transform in a cloud-first telco, focusing on the opportunities cloud-native 5G presents as the catalyst for change.
"CSPs across Asia/Pacific recognise the benefits to shifting to a cloud-first strategy, but currently, around half of them have yet to prioritise this within their digital transformation programmes," notes Monica Collier, associate research director, IDC Asia/Pacific Telecommunications and Internet of Things. She adds, "There are strong opportunities for vendors to align themselves as trusted partners in this space, particularly to collaborate with telcos to achieve 5G benefits and outcomes that require a cloud-first environment to realise their maximum potential."
